RST and D3O innovate in motorcycle protection with an English touch
Safety is non-negotiable in motorcycle equipment and has reached a new turning point with RST and D3O
British firms RST and D3O have joined forces to set a new standard in the motorcycle equipment industry.
The partnership between both brands, announced at the 2025 Isle of Man TT, goes beyond a mere commercial collaboration to become a technological development project.
The context couldn't be more eloquent. The cancellation of the Senior TT was a direct consequence of the extreme conditions that prevail in this legendary competition. This reminded us that protection is never an accessory, but an essential part of the relationship between motorcycle and human being.

RST as a reference in the motorcycle world
This has been the result of a year of joint work with RST's official riders. The brand will fully adapt the protections developed by D3O in their competition garments.
This same advancement, far from being limited to the paddock, will be progressively integrated into the brand's commercial range starting in 2026. This way, cutting-edge technology is brought closer to the end user.
D3O also in motorcycling
D3O has technology recognized in fields as demanding as defense or the aerospace industry. It is characterized by the use of a polymer that remains flexible at rest. However, it instantly solidifies upon impact.

This property makes the material an ideal ally for motorcycling, as it combines ergonomic comfort and energy absorption at levels that are hard to match.
According to Stuart Millington, RST's vice president: “Partnering with leaders in innovation is part of our natural evolution as a brand. The joint work with D3O has allowed us to develop real and tangible improvements. Now we're proud to introduce them in our next collection.”

The support of the official riders hasn't taken long. Glenn Irwin (British Superbike and RST rider) emphasizes that “RST x D3O protection brings peace of mind, it's lightweight, comfortable, and practically unnoticeable. But it's there when you need it most.”
Meanwhile, Lee Johnston, TT veteran, acknowledges that “the incorporation of D3O has taken my RST suit to another level. It's incredibly comfortable and adds an extra level of confidence that makes a difference when riding.”
D3O protections, unmistakable for their orange hue and CE certification, will be integrated into key areas such as shoulders, elbows, back, and knees. This addition highlights the shared commitment of both brands to raise safety standards.

In the words of Mostyn Thomas, D3O's marketing director, “our flagship technology offers an unmatched balance between protection and comfort. This alliance with RST not only strengthens our leadership, but also allows riders to push their limits without giving up anything. That's what 'Give it Orange' truly means.”
