Let's see what this consists of in order to put it into practice in a simple and economical way, but without ever overlooking it. It would be a serious mistake.

The necessary equipment will look after the safety of crucial elements for your health such as your head, joints, or limbs.

Your physical health is your well-being

All of these are vital points without which, in good "review condition," our lives would be very different.

The point is that keeping them safe in the event of a hypothetical accident while riding a motorcycle is not at all complicated or excessively expensive.

It is true that, compared to the suffering of physical injuries, nothing has a price…

The great dilemma arises, why do people ride without gloves, with sneakers, with a jacket without protection, or with a helmet that is not approved?

There is no possible excuse

There is no valid excuse nowadays. On one hand, the passage of time has caused prices to undergo a general market adjustment.

Thus, it is possible to get a full-face helmet at a very good price, even below the 100-euro barrier.

In reality, it is advisable to place ourselves at a higher level of equipment, which we address in subsequent articles.

But even at the outset, this information helps us get an idea of reality, of what is possible... Because avoiding greater harm is not inaccessible. On the contrary.

On a motorcycle with the minimum essential equipment

Whether at the controls of a scooter, or perhaps a naked with a car license or an urban custom, any "civilian" clothing will not do.

Another issue would be not finding the style we like and seek to characterize us, identifying with it.

Today the catalog is so broad that not only the fabric, but also the designs, cuts, and colors open up the range to almost any user.

Attention to very basic helmets

Let's start with what, even today, is established as mandatory when riding a motorcycle with a license in your pocket: the helmet.

But what's the point of putting on the helmet without fastening it? Who can guarantee that you won't have a minor mishap just around the corner?

When we play at being fortune tellers, we do nothing but show our childishness.

You will find any open-face helmet at a price as basic as its protection in any specialty store.

Remember that the protection of your eyes will be another of those vital points. A jet helmet with a large visor will offer minimal guarantees.

Keep it clean and in good condition, free of impacts or handprints stuck along the surface that hinder vision.

Always wear a jacket, even in summer

As we say, a motorcycle jacket today doesn't always identify us as users of a two-wheeled vehicle.

However, we see urban riders equipped with elegant coats or, in summer, simply in jersey sleeves. It makes no sense.

A jacket with tear-resistant fabric, well fitted to our body with the proper adjustments, is all you need, nothing less.

Because an approved jacket withstandsabrasion, as well as impacts with protection on shoulders and elbows, at a minimum.

Add a basic removable back protector that is not usually included as standard equipment and you will be ready for action.

Gloves in the city, what for?

The answer is very simple: to avoid the painful treatments from which you will come out practically unscathed by wearing them.

What happens with gloves is even more evident, if possible. We use our hands for everything and we can't imagine our lives without being able to pick up our cell phone...

Once again, logic prevails and poor behavior, simply, still makes no sense.

A pair of approved gloves won't require a huge expense either; in fact, it will be among the cheapest items you find in the equipment you need.

Once again, the rigors of the asphalt require garments approved for this purpose and any other product simply serves no purpose.

Find a middle ground between protection and feel, with adjustments that prevent them from flying off in a slide.

Remember that the longer the cuff, the greater the protection they will provide.

More or less "casual" motorcycle pants

Like the rest of the equipment, pants have so far been a justification for riding a motorcycle "well dressed" with inappropriate clothing.

Whether you are more or less elegant in your dress, more or less informal, or simply whatever each situation requires, you will find a pair of motorcycle pants.

Because they will be prepared to withstand the force of abrasion and ready to absorb hard impacts in key areas such as the knees or hips.

There are also those in which the protectors can be easily removed from the outside, in case they bother you when you reach your destination.

You will find plenty of solutions and prices in stores in your area… because physical shopping is very important.

The size and fit should be what your body requires; another solution is not at all advisable... or riding with sizes outside your range.

Feet are also part of the body

There are those who have a false sense of security riding a scooter because they rest their feet on the platform.

In a side impact, it is possible that the scooter's own structure will stop the first cycle of the blow.

However, feet are usually at the mercy of the most aggressive external agents, whether on a platform or on a pair of footpegs.

What are the critical points? The toe (extended toward the outer side), the malleolus, and the ankle.

Meanwhile, mid-height boots will protect us one level above low-cut shoes, with the malleolus "exposed." Mistake.

There are sporty or more elegant and refined models that offer such protection, with the described vital points reinforced.

If you like sneakers and don't want to equip yourself with motorcycle boots, there is a solution for you.

Look for footwear from the main brands in the sector with the indicated basic reinforcements and that, at least, fulfill their function if you need them.
